  • Maintain Freshman On Track Rates over 95% as well as graduation rates over 85%.
  • Developed a disciplinary system that reduces suspension through restorative, data driven practices. Named the only Exemplary High School in CPS for Social Emotional Learning.
  • Increased college enrollment rate by over 20% while maintaining other positive post-secondary plans.
  • Built a robust extracurricular program including sports, leadership opportunities, academic options and student led and focused groups.

Collins Academy High School, an AUSL School in CPS (2014-2015)

  • Partnered with various organizations including OneGoal, EMBARC, CityYear, and Umoja to build a school culture that includes the opportunity of college for all as well as restorative justice for every student.
  • Led the development of restorative justice program, including Peace Circles, Mindful Practices and alternatives to suspension.

Chicago Academy High School, an AUSL School in CPS (2005-2014)

  • Built a college going culture, increasing college matriculation rate (78%), placing school in the top 10% of CPS.
  • Accumulated over $8 million in annual scholarships by working with counselors, students and families.
  • Managed a system of interventions improving freshman on track rates to over 90% and graduation rates to 78%, both well above the district norm.
  • Integrated Standards Based Learning system with Signature Strategies leading to higher average ACT scores of 19.4, placing Chicago Academy in the top quartile of high schools in CPS.
  • Won a planning grant of $100,000 from Next Generation Learning Challengers (NGLC) to make Chicago Academy a 21st century learning environment with 1:1 technology for students.
  • Earned several awards for Chicago Academy, including US News and World Report’s Silver Medal School, as well as numerous AUSL Real Change Awards.
  • Quadrupled parent nights and developed a LiftOff parental program for college awareness.
